Default Anyone using Custom Dynamics Triple Play?

I have a Custom Dynamics Triple Play module (it’s a run/brake/turn kit) which was originally on my 2019 Low Rider which I moved to my S, along with 4 probeam sigs and a probeam tail. On the 2019, never had a problem. However on my S, I’ve been getting BCM codes b2151h, 2156h and 2206h which return after clearing. Also the security LED lights intermittently when I apply the brakes. However after disconnecting the module and clearing the codes, they don’t return. Put the module back and the codes come back.

Custom Dynamics wants me to send the module back for them to test, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone was using it on a 2020 bike.

Thanks.

Does the module just make the stock turn signals work as brake lights also? I have zero experience with it, but maybe you could just swap the sockets in the signals and run a single extra wire to under the seat? I bet it wouldn't cost more than $50 max and a few hours of work, and it would work like it does normally rather than an in between electronic thingamajig pissing off the can bus.

No, it also makes them act as running lights (on dimmed all the time). The BCM can be set to have them light with brake, but no option to have them on all the time. I suspect changing sockets to 1157 would bother the BCM equally though. The CD module can also enable flashing, but I don't use that, only running and braking, in addition to the normal turn.

I'll let them see if there is a problem with the module, and if now, just leave it off and set the BCM for Turn/Brake functionality and leave it alone. But since it worked with the 2019, I would hope it would work on my '20...

I don't think swapping the sockets would bother the BCM as it would have no idea. There is signal for run/brake/stop/turn all under the seat. I think there is at least one Softail that comes with a 4 wire light so it would be wire and go. But it is a little bit of work for sure.

I've got one waiting to be installed on my 2020 Heritage. Interested to hear what you find out.

I'm interested to hear what happens to you when you install yours! Are you using LED sigs as well?

I just install one on my 2019 Heritage, and so far no problems. I believe the triple play version was specific for that bike. Interested on how you make out. Good Luck!

Perhaps the dealer needs to change the software that monitors the bikes electrical load so that it does not throw a code when it sees a different current load then with the OEM signals. The dealer did the install on my '19 Heritage and all is well. Suggest you call your dealership and talk with the service manager.

FYI... When I installed BMW LED turn signals on my '15 GSA it caused an error code and did require a software change from the BMW dealer. Seems to me H-D would likely require the same simply to take more money out of our wallet.

I don't think there is any settings in the BCM for loads from light bulbs on these bikes. FWIW I have all LED's on my 2020 without any codes or lights. They are not plug and play stuff either.

BCM is supposed to learn the lower resistance of LED's by running hazards for more then a minute with the ignition off. There is also a setting in the BCM. This was my 2018 LR hooked up to a dealer digital tech... DT can enable the rear sigs to light with brake as well as sig, but no setting for running lights.
