Anybody know how Harley measures the length of these new upper clutch cables? I have mine off the bike and measured 35 from clutch lever perch to the little ball end thats inside the adjuster with the spring fully extended(no red clip). I need a +4 cable over stock after my bar change. X+4=?
I have a 42" cable with 14" T bars. It works fine, and also wouldn't hurt if it were an inch shorter.
I put 10" apes on my Low Rider when I had it and put on a 37" cable. It worked out pretty good. The stock cable would have worked by rerouting it but I didn't want to do that.
I think how to measure these upper cables is HD's best kept secret. If you watch John Maxwell (Harley tech in Georgia) on YouTube he even got hosed up. When he changed the bars on his Heritage he called HD, they told him how to measure them and he ended up ordering a cable way too long.

Yeah I mightve went a little long for 12 bars but I figured I could always lose some slack if I had to...I follow your build on instagram, good ****!

Hate to admit it but when I did mine I went through 3 cables, a 47, 43 and finally nailed it with 37. Surdyke was pretty good on returning the others. Live and learn.

the good news at least is I did order through Surdyke.
