2018+ Softail Models Breakout

Recommend an exhaust. I want loud, less concerned about power.

When I first got my new fxbr, I came here for exhaust recommendations. To each thier own, but I think shorts look vantastic and give a hotrod bike a hotrod look. Practically EVERYBODY said " your bike will lose loads of power and be sure to get quiet baffles!!!". So I did. I installed them, and I swear it was barely louder than stock! I couldn't believe it either. So then, I put the standards in, a lil better, but meh? Did lose a tad of bottom too. Still, mostly hear wind heading down the road. Frustrated, I pulled them suckers out, and worried about loss of power added the tti adjusted about as open as ya can, and it sounds and runs fantastic. I never did, and still don't understand how it was so damn quiet at first. I did leave that white material on the baffles though?
Should be wearing ear plugs - mainly to protect you from the wind noise - unless you don't care about going deaf. Amazing what you can hear after you've cut the wind noise down.

As to exhaust and the OP's question... Understanding how exhaust work/contribute as part of a system is helpful in making choices. They are not simply just bent pipe etc... Otherwise, all you would need is one of these...

... if all you wanted was loud.

Im 61 years old. I definitely DO NOT wanna go deaf! I'll try some earplugs. Seems unsafe? Idk.

I would argue that wearing earplugs is safer in all respects. I hear what is important better with them in then without them. I use the Ulta Soft Silicone Earplugs from CVS...

The NRR on those is 22. Perfect for motorcycling. Comfortable enough for all day riding.

I never ride without them.

I love my rb racing exhaust on my Street Bob. It looks great and sounds even better.
thanks. I was on the RB Racing website tonight and honestly it confused the hell out of me. They have so many options and variants I didn't even know where to begin. Also, they make a big deal about how quiet their exhausts are. I don't want obnoxious, but I definitely want a better sounding, louder than stock exhaust.

What exhaust do you have on your street bob? Could you post a picture?

thanks again

Those blow exhausts are cool! But one concern I have is that with the mid controls on my FXBB my right foot will be too close to the un-shielded bottom portion of the exhaust. I have googled and haven't been able to find any pics or videos of that exhaust on an fxbb.
