Hey guys. I currently am debating on trading in my 2015 roadglide special for a 2020 lowrider s. I've owed a couple dynas before I went touring. My main question is how many of you ride 2 up and what's the comfort level on the Softail frame. Unfortunately the bike comes with a solo seat so it's impossible to ride the misses on a test ride.
I have a '19 Sport Glide, which is similar to the Low Rider S but with the smaller engine. I've had my partner on the back of that without issues, but needed to make a couple of mods to get it comfy. I fitted a Saddlemen road sofa seat with a bit more padding and a HD sissy bar and pad to stop her from falling off.
The nice thing about the Sport Glide is not having to take the seat of to adjust the rear preload. I found even with the preload wound right up the ride was pretty good. No performance issues or stability issues either for me. I weigh around 90kg and my partner is not small (won't say more than that).
This shows the Saddlemen seat with the top box I bought for trips This shows the rack and sissy bar I use when riding two up without the top box, but I didn't have the Saddlemen seat at this point.
I had an Electra Glide Classic and now I’m riding a 2018 Low Rider. I switched out the seat and and added the sissy bar with a decent pad on it and my wife doesn’t complain at all and we’ve taken several 2-4 day trips. Furthest ride in one day was 452 miles.
Wow it seems lately theres a lot of us trading their baggers for various softail models.
I traded my 15 RGS for a 2020 Heritage and have never regretted it for a minute.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm still on the fence about it at the moment. The dealership isn't really trying to play ball other than MSRP on any bike. You figure with everything going on they would be itching to move them.
Nice bike. The saddlemen website doesn’t show a road sofa seat for the sportglide, only step-up,explorer and renegade seats. Was your seat custom made, do you have a part number for the seat.? I have a 2018 lowrider which suppose to take the same size seat as the sport glide.Thsnks, Ken
I have the 2019 Street Bob and equipped it to ride two up. The passenger pillion add on wasn't comfortable for the passenger at all. She lasted about twenty minutes. So I bought the Sundowner seat and now I can't get her off. Lol I also purchased a backrest, luggage rack because she couldn't really hold on well at any speed when I gave it throttle and that was with the 107.
