Ballpark, what would it cost to have a stage 2 done? Torque cam? Less than $1K?

not sure about USA, but here in the UK the cam kit with pushrods and covers is about Ł475 ($600) without install. Guessing another Ł700 ($900) for labour... at Ł80-Ł90 per hour...
My experience with just a stage one left me unimpressed. I don't think any stage one configuration will give you much of a noticeable bump in performance and the only benefit to a stage one is that it's a stepping stone to stage 2. Replacing the cam is where you really start to experience a noticeable and significant bump in performance.
With all the threads on here Ive read about what a Stage 1 does anyone who thinks for a minute that it changes performance drastically has his head in the sand. My understanding is a Stage 1 simply lets the bike breathe better and lets it run a little richer and possibly gives you a better throttle response. It should run a little closer to the way it should.
I have a 107 with the SE torque cam and SE tuner. I'm running the HD heavy breather and cobra pipes. The factory 107 and I'm assuming the other Harley motors have their nuts in a vice. Stage 1 really only gets you ready for stage 2. Stock and even with stage 1 the bike has a very narrow power band, 2200-3800 really before it flattens out and just screams to make noise. After the cam I have power from 2-5500 with no abrupt fall off. The bike just goes. The power is smooth and no more buzzy evo like motor feeling at mid rpm. Even at 100mph shes smooth. I paid 850 installed with the upgraded HD oil pump and oil filter. I'm into stage 1 and 2 for about 1600. I ride with guys with built victorys and HD's. And I have no trouble keeping up and they are all at 120hp/130tq+. I'm at 104/112 and she eats. Running the canned SE tune and runs perfect. Any gear has power and the power is linear and predictable with no flat spots or twitchy throttle. Like most say after a cam swap the bikes should ship like that. They really should, feels like going from a buzzy 600 to a liter bike. You don't realize how restricted these motors are until you swap cams.

Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. From reading it really seems like this a good upgrade. Im happy the SE tuner works, I dont want to spend more Harley tax than needed.
I also want to do the upgraded pump. Did you have to tell them about that or did know about it already? I wonder how much they know and arent saying.
Apparently mine came with the oil pump/plate and new filter. I askedWhen ordering the cam kit. Not sure if HD just sends them together or my dealer just orders and installs them when they open the motor up some. Just know now that the bike runs good. I could get some more out with a PC. But unless Im doing a complete build, cams, cans, pistons, etc. Im more than ok with the SE kit. Id go a full S&S over HD if I did that though. Next year maybe lol
After 3 months / 2,500 miles with my 1st 107 (previous was an fxfbs 114), I've come to some conclusions:
- Even on fast roads / quick riding, the stage 1 engine doesn't hold the bike back at all. The chassis on the other hand is a bit ordinary;
- I am rarely at 100% throttle, even overtaking;
- My stage 2 cash is staying in the bank, to be spent on ferries and hotels next year (if I can resist the temptation of replacing my rear shock).
I loved the 114. I prefer the 107. I find it more flexible, slightly more free revving, 'sporty'. I don't notice any vibrations, apart from good ones!
Of course, only my feelings, based on the way I ride, on the roads I ride.

Good decision. Anyone who is rarely at 100% throttle, should not spend money for power upgrades.
