Default Engine temp

Was curious if anyone else has a 107 in there 2020 Heritage and thinks it seems to run hot. Mine has a stage 1 and seems to feel it’s running hot compared to my 103 in my 2015 RGS.
Obviously I cant check any temps without gauges, it’s just a feel thing. I thought the M8 was supposed to run cooler from what everybody said.
Any follow up would be appreciated
Thanks

Last bike I had was a stage 1 Evo Softail. I’d say, yes my M-8 runs hotter than my Evo, but not nearly as hot as a 2010 96” Heritage I rode for a day a couple years back. That Twin Cam 96 would cook my legs by the second traffic light off the highway. My M-8 Heritage doesn't do that. In fact I've never even enabled the EITMS system because I haven't felt the need.

Hard to tell. I did the Stage 1 on my M8 107 for better air flow and haven't felt a difference. I wish HD would make a dip stick with an anlog temp gauge for M8 engines like it does for its pre-M8 engine bikes.

I’ll bet there’s already a temperature sensor somewhere in the system and it would be a simple matter for Harley-Davidson to incorporate a readout into the display. You know, the one that’s always fogged over with condensation.

OTOH, would knowing the temperature of the oil or the cylinder head really tell us anything really useful?

There is a cylinder head temperature sensor; you can access it through an FP3 or PowerVision. Numbers generally range from around 270 to 330 on my '18 oil-cooled Softail.

And, as I said, does knowing that give me anything useful, or is it just something more to worry about?

Well, I mean -- that's up to you. Do you need to know that number? And what would you do with it, if you knew it? If you've got a reason to know it, then -- it's available.

I've got a used one if you want one for gauges and code clearing. Send a PM if interested.
