Default Getting ready to pull the trigger on Air Ride

I have done lots of searching and it seems like Shotgun is the Air ride of choice here, although most of the reviews are on older bikes/systems. My mechanic is a huge fan of Legend suspension and can give me a deal that brings the price down too make it pretty close to the SS. I only ride solo so not sure how much adjustability I need. Once I find the sweetspot I will stick with it, exept when slamming to park. The think I like most about Legend, which seems trivial, is the handlebar mounted controls.

Is this a really can't go wrong with either situation or should I ignore my mechanic and go Shotgun?

Hoping someone can help me break the tie!

Appreciated.

Follow..

For most airrides you can place the controllers where you want, if you want them on the handlebar you can. You should not necessarily use what the manufacturer provides.

On my FXSB I have the SAS sytem and I can park in the lowest position with stock kickstand, do not know how it is with the M8's and air.

I have a bagger with air and i constantly think about switching it out for Ohlins or RWD. It rides ok and does look sweet sitting on the center stand but as far as performance it's not the choice.

I had the Legends on my 17 slim, I could never get them to stop leaking! Pretty much every time I road, I have to add air. My sweet spot was when my exhaust lined up the the rear axil, I just had to do it every time!!!

I have the Legends on my 18 heritage. Stock stand works fine unless you turn your bars to the right, then it's no bueno.

Thanks guys. Not a ton of info out there on the mono shock. Still on the fence. Looks like the Shotgun goes a little lower than the Legend too.
Cheers.

Mine sits in the bump stops when it’s all the way down.
