Default FLDE fender trip falling off

Anyone with a Deluxe or heritage having issues with the posts that hold the fender trim on breaking? I have a 19 FLDE, 21k on the clock and the posts that are on the trim and poke through the fender with a retainer on the back have snapped off. I will take it in for waranty, but that was the last thing I expected to have to warranty....

Not so far, but being that the trim pieces are chrome plated plastic I can see how it could happen.

Yep, same issue. I had to replace the rear render fender tip and the rear on the front fender rattles.

Yes....it’s infuriating. On my replacement trim I “coated” the studs and retainers with liquid nails on the inside of the fender. My goal was to hold the studs in place, but coat them to give some protection against rocks that must hit them to break them. So far, it is solid as a rock.

I always took the front fender back one off, and the rear fender one off. Looks cleaner that way IMHO

Thx, but I’ll pass. The holes make the fender look very sloppy.
