Its probably just HD being silly. But if the latch will work on the Heritage, it SHOULD work on the SG. You may have to remove the saddlebags to put it on though.
It most likely will not work. I've bought both of them and they both have fitment issues. One won't latch/unlatch but will lock and unlock and the other, while it will latch and unlatch, won't unlock once locked due to clearance issues with the lock cylinder. Like I said, it's been a little while since I've tried the tour pak locks, but if the MoCo is finally saying that the locks won't work, it's an improvement from what it was earlier where you paid your money and took your chances.

Good to know, thanks. I guess I'll take my chances with the Tour Pak getting stolen.
It's about time for me to waste $60 and try again, since it looks like they've now got 2-up vs 1-up options for the locks. I might just buy one and see if it works. If I do, I'll report back.

I've noticed they had both options for a while now. I mistakenly bought the one-up version for my last Heritage. The website now says the one-up version will fit the Sport Glide so they've either edited that since I last checked or I'm losing my mind.

Hey, don't discount the idea that they could have edited it AND you're losing your mind, but don't worry about that, you're in good company.
I think I might have figured out what's going on. There's a few different racks, including one specifically for the Sport Glide (p/n 50300192). That two-up rack doesn't seem to have a lock that work with it. The non-Sport Glide two-up rack (p/n 50300186) looks like it has working lock options. Guess which one I bought?

Interesting. I wonder what the difference is. In the picture of the SG specific rack on the H-D website, it looks like the top end of the latch is awfully close to one of the "bars" on the rack. Maybe there's just not room for the key to get in there to lock/unlock on that rack?
