Hey all. I am thinking about purchasing a used cruise control for my 18 FXFBS. The one my buddy is selling doesn’t have the plug on the end of the wiring harness. I have purchase the plug but am not sure of
the order the wires need to be plugged into the pins in the plug. I have a manual with the wiring diagram but am still a bit confused. I can’t tell which side of the plug is up or down on the diagram. Here is a pic of the diagram for reference. Any help is much appreciated.
I'm assuming that they are using all 4 pins on the plug and they are the same colors, so It should be straight forward.
I guess this means I can use the existing plug and return the one I purchased as well. I’ll get into the wiring harness today and figure it out. Any other advice for dealing with the wiring harness removal and installation that would be helpful? Thanks again.
I like to work on my bike, and HS dealers charge too much for their mostly mediocre service. But, I had the dealer install my HD cruise control to make sure the ECM properly recognized it and the functions, including auto release functions, worked properly. I love my cruise control; it take a lot of strain off the right hand on long stretches, but if not properly installed, it can create a safety hazard.
