Bought the wife a 2020 Softail Deluxe and added a few accessories at purchase. One of the accessories is quick detachable saddlebags. She has the factory solo seat and I like the idea of adding a detachable luggage rack over the rear fender behind the seat. Wondering if anyone has ideas on how the detachables hardware would mount with the saddlebags in place or if it is even possible.
Thanks for the input
Congrats to the Mrs. on her new Deluxe. I dressed my '19 similarly (see the pictures posted in https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2018-...t-weekend.html). Unfortunately, the solo luggage rack they installed (HD Part 50300154) was not of the quick-release variety. I have since replaced it with a removable tour pack. Pricier, but I needed the storage for longer camping trips. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I don't think HD offers a quick disconnect luggage rack at the moment. I went with a Motherwell fixed mount on my 2019, and strap on a tail bag when I need more capacity. I'm heading out on a 4-day trip and the saddlebags and tail bag will be packed to the top.
I see no reason why it would not work. Here is a pic of my bike when I have the HD sissy bar with attached luggage rack and the same bags using HD detachable hardware. Same concept.

Word of caution if you haven't gotten to this point yet. I have a 2018 deluxe, with the detachable luggage rack. I have the tour pack on it. My problem is, and you may find this, any saddlebags I put on this bike I can't get into. The lid hits the bottom of the pack and I can only get my arm in 1/2 way. Its annoying. We orderd the hogwerkz brackets and matching handbags, A) brackets sit right on top of the exhaust. B) handbags are too long and tail lights will have to be moved.
If you found another option I'd love to hear it! As much as I love the boss bags, I cannot afford $1200.00 bags.

HD offer this HoldFast Detachable Tour-Pak Luggage Mounting Rack ( https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...ome/p/50300174 ), which I successfully use with a HD overnight bag. I have been considering also fitting saddle bags too, which the local dealer advised will fit with the existing detachable hardware … so hopefully all works together but would like to hear from someone who has done this as I can’t visualise how they can both utilise the detachable docking hardware together.

The quick detach saddlebag hardware has locking points between the fender and the bag. Your tour pack hardware mounts on those points. You can see the black mounting point in the front, and chrome in the rear.
Greg...do you happen to have the Part # for the bags and mountinghardware that the Dealer installed on your wife's 2020 Deluxe. I have the exact same bike in the garage....hoping to add the bags. Thanks. Jim
