My 2021 fxlrs (2 weeks old, 650km) emits a very high pitched noise, I located it coming from around the right front of the tank. If I unscrew the cap while bike is running, it's clearly coming from inside the tank. Suppose it is a fuel pump noise, only there when the bike is running but it pains my ears after a while, after stopping I have a bad case of tinnitus too. Is this a known issue? Something to do about it?
Honestly no man, I can't hear my fuel pump after the initial prime when I flip the switch. I'd take 'er back to the dealer & let them tell you it's normal, then push the issue.
No it is definitely inside the tank, very obvious with tank cap open. Wife normally doesn’t notice these things, but she also said it’s pretty annoying
After I took my 2020 FXST in for the 1000 mile service it started making the same exact sound you describe. The dealer said if its not affecting anything I should just ride it around and come back if its still happening but Ive been too lazy to deal with their crap. Haven't had any problems but it is pretty loud and annoying. Is there a way to get a recall or something if there are about of people with the same issue?
I have just got myself a FXST 2021 and I am having same issue with the high pitch sound. When driving at slower speeds it drives me nuts. Its for sure the fuel pump. Did anybody try and replace the pump with another brand or find any other way to avoid this high pitch sound? Also getting tinnitus after riding due to this.
