I had the foggy speedo on my previous '20 LRS my '22 LRS has not done it yet finger's crossed, this should not happen at all on a late model bike and HD not wanting to know about fixing it is a disgrace IMO
I bought a 1999 Sportster 1200 Custom new in 98. Speedo fogged up from time to time the entire time I owned it(23 years). I now own a 2020 Softail Slim and it does it, too. No warranty on the Slim so I guess I'll just drill it. Harley could fix this problem if they really wanted to but we all just keep accepting it. Harley knows this. Until it starts hurting their bottom line they're not going to fix it.
Just managed to pickup a brand new speedometer (70900684B) for Ł180 delivered.
Question is.... Do I need to have it installed by my Authorized Stealer Dealer?

I don't think so. It will be a little wonky on odometer readings until about 25 to 50 miles travelled, then it will show correct odometer reading based off of the ECU, from what I understand.
When mine was replaced, the B trip odometer read backwards for about 25 miles then worked as normal. Called the dealer about it and was told it was normal, it was marrying itself to the bike. They also said it was plug and play. No special set up.
I have the original gauge in my 2018 Heritage classic. I (carefully) hand drilled 5 holes in the back of the gauge with a 3/32 bit. I went riding yesterday and the old gage was fogging at the bottom . I ran 300 miles and couldn't read the LCD . After drilling the same gage today it doesn't fog at all after riding
Good to know about barometric pressure balance being the issue. Less holes = less chance of ruining the gage and water getting in. Thanks for the tips without these treads my gage would be fogged up right now ...
I'm sure that barometric pressure is the problem ... I'm no scientist and I'm sure that all the other manufacturers have no problem with this ... Barometric Pressure ? ... Drilling holes may resolve the issue but do little to address the original cause ... Does HD have drills ?
