Default High mileage softails.

Who has problem free high mileage softails with no more than a stage 1 upgrade?

How high is high?

In my case, 2019 Heritage, stock, 17,000 miles. Only issue was air in rear brake line. Motor runs strong with oil consumption too low to measure.

35k miles on my 2019 Sport Glide. No issues. No meaningful oil consumption. Bone stock 107.

2019 Deluxe, 25k. Sticking Oil pressure switch at about 10k, and broken mounting tabs on chrome fender trim. Its in the shop now for 25k service. Warranty expires in 2 weeks, so they are doing a leakdown for my peace of mind.

I suspect there are lots of “problem free”
high mileage Softails out there but the owners are too busy riding and enjoying them to post here.

Eh, a measly 8500k on my 2020 so far, hoping to hit 15-17k this year. So far not a single problem, not even speedo condensation *gasp*

Only mod has been my exhaust, no intake or tune. (come at me haters)

Same mods here on my '20 and I'm at 10k. Also, no speedo condensation either

I have 19,000 on my 18 114. No issues to speak of. Had to get the fuel pump regulator rotated and align rear wheel due to belt noise. Other than that nothing but riding.

I suppose I could also mention speedometer fogging (fixed) and belt noise (specification given in the service manual does not allow enough slack when loaded by the weight of the rider). I didn’t really consider these to be significant enough to mention. I’d have to say that it’s been the most reliable motorcycle I’ve ever owned. Ask me again in another 50-60,000 miles, though.

This is a great question. I'm looking forward to hearing from those guys with real, legitimate high-mileage softails, like north of 50,000 miles.

I've never kept an HD with over 35,000 miles. I always traded it in for something new or at least newer. This one, my 2020 Heritage, I may keep for a long time. That's one reason why I'm interested.
