I've got a stock windshield on my slim that's 18" tall and have to look through it to ride. I'm wanting to find a 15" replacement windshield and was wondering if anyone has a recommendation that uses the stock Harley windshield frame for the slims. Trying to avoid cutting it down as I may want the taller shield in the winter.
I have a LRS Im selling. Its the $190 one in black and is the shortest one they offer for softail slim. Message me and Ill shoot you a price. Like you the 18 Harley one was too tall for me
and Ill include the windshield brackets and pouches
Thanks for the offer dbuzzell but I don't believe the 16" LRS won't be short enough to clearly see over.
Surprising to me HD doesn't make shorter shields for this bike. The aftermarket seems to not have any shields that fit on the stock hardware either. Guess I'll be cutting down the shield I have.
Are you running the stock seat? Maybe go to the dealer and have them put a demo seat that has more cushion. It may be enough to get you looking over the shield. Might be worth a shot before you cut it. If you do end up cutting it, don't go too short or you will have buffeting issues. I wasted money on the short shield for an Iron 883. The shield was just a tad too short making riding unbearable. I believe you want it around the bottom of your nose. But definitely research that before you go cutting. I would do a little at a time and test it.

I am running the stock seat. I was really wanting to try a reach seat to move me more forward towards the Wild1 504 bars I just installed. I've either got to move myself forward somehow or put the stock bars with the pullback risers back on. Good idea on going to the dealer to try some seats out. I need to get the seat settled before doing anything with the shield or I'll just possibly be throwing away money.
I must have a short torso for my height, not that I'm that tall but I'm not that short either (5'8") but am having a heck of a time getting my bars and shield height settled.
You will be amazed how much a seat will make a difference in position. The stock one sits really low. I'm sure you will get it figured out. I would start with trying to demo a reach seat. I test rode the bike with a sundowner seat on it. I felt even that pushed me forward a bit and raised me a lot. I was just at a dealer two days ago and I happened to see all the HD demo stamped seats hanging up. Good Luck.
