Default Stage 1-4 overall cost

Hi everyone!

I’m just looking for a general idea on how much each stage costs going from stock. I.E. Stock to stage 1 costs $XXXX.XX. Stock to stage 4 costs $XXXXX.XX.

I know prices will vary based on specific exhaust and intake and whatnot, but I’m just trying to get a general idea.

Current bike is a 2021 Softail Slim with a M8 107CI. I’ll have the dealer install everything until my warranty expires.

$0 - $10,000.

Sorry I know that's not helpful, but hey you got a free thread bump!

Have you looked at the harley website for the pricing on each stage. Remember thats just for the kit (parts) My local shop i believe charges $99 an hour. Look for at least 7-10 hours of labor charges from start to finish. Not including the charge for fluids and disposal.

My guesses:

Stage 1 - slips ons, air cleaner and HD tuner - parts $1000-$1300 no labor, dealer could easily charge 2-4 hours labor
Stage 2 - adding a cam to stage one - parts $350-$500 no labor, dealer could easily charge 6-8 hours labor
Stage 3 - 107 to a 114 kits I believe is somewhere around $1500, 107 to a 119,122 or 128 price increases per kit in HD catalog, dealer could easily charge 10-14 hours of labor
Stage 4 - cost of kits are in catalog because new heads are part of kit price increase is pretty dramatic compared to stage 3, probably about same labor time as a stage 3 since all the work is pretty much the same I believe.

If you use standard industry parts HD probably already has a down load available that can be installed on the HD tuner by the shop doing the work but not sure if that's included or not. The HD Smart tune "module" can be added to the HD tuner that is suppose to "dial in" the new parts and that's another $400 dollars or so.

My numbers are only a ball park based on some of my own experiences from a few years back so keep that in mind. Everyone's experience/cost/taste/dealer will be different..

Thanks for the general idea. I have to go with the dealer install to not void my warranty if I do stage 2+. I’ll probably just do a stage 2 and call it there. Anything more might not be worth the money for me.

Haven't read or heard of too many people that are disappointed in a cam only but I believe most of the happy customers went with the torque cam as opposed to the power cam.

The torque cam is the plan. I don’t know why anyone would do the power cam on a Harley unless they’re racing it on a road course.

Stage 2 parts, around $750, just finished it. I did S&S lifters and cuffs, SE torque cam, SE cam bearing. Tech charged 4hrs labor. I had 65k miles on my '18 Heritage 114, so there was some normal wear on cam lobe and lifter rollers, nothing serious. I couldn't be happier, tech upgraded to 2020 oil pump under my extended warranty.

Yeah, as previously mentioned, the HD website has all the part costs and you can input the year and model of your bike to the search results will all fit your bike. Labor will be extra. On another note, if I'm not mistaken, in order to get the most performance out of a stage II (new cam) , stage III (107-119 new heads, pistons, cam) or stage IV (107-128 new heads, pistons, cam) kit, installing a Stage I system (hi flow air cleaner & SE street cannons or similar) is needed. And for any stage upgrade, you'll need a new Tune, so some additional part and labor costs to consider.
