I hate these "my dealer showed me" threads because 80% of the time they end up being false information.
I really hope the Sport Glide doesn't get discontinued because it's an awesome bridge between the Softails and the touring bikes. I like it though and I have the worst luck so it probably will be discontinued. I do wonder how the sales were because most of the local dealership had them on the Showroom floor in new or used form.
The Slim, on the other hand, was a very generic and bland looking Softail so I wouldn't be surprised if it is discontinued.
Well, he opened the email in front of me and it sais slim, sport glide and one more I didnt pay attention too. If its false than H-D is sending those false info to dealers
Just curious, but what did the dealer show you? Were you interested in the Slim, they dont have one, and tried to steer you to what they have?
He can have one no problem, we were chatting about it and other options I am concidering and when I said that I was hoping for a 114 slim next year he said well the slim is discontinued and he opened the email to show me which bikes were gone for 2022
Allen's Alley deals in used bikes, mostly Harleys. I was talking to Allen a while back before I bought my Sport Glide and he told me the Sport Glides were getting pretty scarce, at least at the auctions. He said that he used to be able to pick them up at auction for a good price, now, if they do have one, you're going to pay a premium. Seems they got more popular. I imagine the MOCO makes these decisions a couple years in advance, if not more, so if the bike gets popular after the decision is made, oh well, too late. If this is true, I'm just glad I was able to get the one I have. At my age, it is probably the last bike I'll buy.
Businesses can change decisions made years in advance though. The Sport Glide seemingly has pretty much everything that a lot of Harley guys want so I don't understand why it isn't popular if it isn't already.

Mid controls should always be a factory option without having to pay an extra $2,000 or whatever it is. And I agree that it's asinine that they didn't give the bike a 114.

Rumor on interwebs says SportGlide mated with Lowrider S.
No, I don't believe it's real at all.. but not a bad set up. Pretty close to how the SG should have been from get go. Lowrider S touring model *unconfirmed rumor*

The Wide Glide probably won't come back as it'd compete directly with the Breakout . It's a shame as the WG was the sexiest looking HD ever made. The FXDR didn't sell well and it went the way of the Dodo .
They're probably keeping the bikes with the highest profit margins and/or the bikes that are not selling so well.
The Slim and Sports Glide , well you got a lot of bike for your money so maybe they didn't have a big profit margin?
So if my margin/sales theory is correct then the Breakout or Fat Bob should be the next bike/bikes cancelled , I can't see the Low Rider S being dumped but it's a low margin bike too but it sells quite well. The FB is a novelty bike too I reckon so it's either safe if it sells well or a dead bike walking. lol
The standard and the Bob will stay I'd say as they're the same bike chromed and not chromed , cheap to make and sell very well.
The Heritage , well there'd be an uproar if it got booted as It's basically the original Softail and it sells well.
Time will tell.

Man, I sure hope not. This looks like a Dyna bro bike.

This will be the only reason to swap my LRS... I find it FANTASTIC!!!
I've never seen that fairing, it's seems different (windshield, open headlight, air scoop....) from any other I saw up to now. Have you??
The reason I dont expect to see the Wide Glide reissued is that its reminiscent of an old school chopper and HD seems to have decided that retro is no longer in style, or at least a style they no longer want to be associated with.
