Same phone mount for 4 years on two different bikes. Kuryakyn Tech-Connect. Low tech but no problems on highways and local. Have always had it behind fairing or shield so not sure if wind at high speed would have any ill affect. Doesn't block any buttons on the phone or charging port. Saw some reviews online about it loosening up, never had a problem with that either.

Would purchase again. Currently have Samsung Galaxy S20FE with thinner case and fits well.
Only use in portrait not landscape.

Don't mount a phone that has a camera with optical image stabilization. New phone camera broke on the first day of my trip out west, couldn't take any pics. Had an old phone that I mounted for years with no issue, though.

Quad lock all the way. They have a vibration dampener for new phones that solves the issue with damage to cameras. My iPhone broke last year with a standard quad lock, but with the vibration dampener, it has been fine ever since.

This. Vibration kills optical image stabilization in cameras; I've lost the cameras in multiple phones before I figured out what was causing it, and Apple has just put out a tech support bulletin warning about the issue. Like everyone else, I did it for years with no issues whatsoever, and then -- bam. Camera's gone on the new, expensive phone.

Second consideration, however minor this may seem: if you are ever in an accident where you're separated from the bike (like, carving some canyons and you lowside and the bike goes over the hill, or whatever) -- how you gonna call for help? I had a nasty accident on an adventure bike in the middle of nowhere, and I can tell you I was very glad I had the phone (and the GPS satellite Garmin Explorer) in jacket pockets, instead of halfway down the hill where my bike rolled.

Garmin Zumo XT on the handlebars; it's made for the job. Cell phone in the pocket.

I use a Ram mount, but I might look into the new quad lock.

I had the quad lock but it's plastic and one of the tabs broke where it mounts to the phone. I'm using rokform now as it's all metal.
