Default Cat/muffler question

Anyone have a picture of the softail baffles and catalytic converters? I’m curious if they’re welded together or two separate pieces.

I’m thinking about drilling/removing my stock baffles and adding thunder torque inserts.

Sorry no pics, but on my 2019 low rider I used to have, the baffles were one piece. I cut them out with a dremel and installed thunder torque inserts. Sounded good to me

Yep! My pipes colored just 10 miles into stage 1 tune with AC change and pipes opened up "straight thru" other than this blockage. During stage 1 upgrade I immediately removed my heat shields to watch for heat indicators (none at this time and 3k on bike with no mods). Then I removed the blockage as shown welded back together and sanded away the color (chrome heatshields cover it all anyway). Then after 300 miles and no coloring, I reinstalled my covers. And HD and others say NO restrictions.

At this point you could use largest hole saw on each end and pull it out the back.
Or better yet, look up a video of DK Customs where they cleanly cut the taper off of the back end and pull out the baffle. At this point you can destroy the converter with a flat wood bit, hole saw or something.

My pipes are a little different and luckily it works out a little better for me. I have the mufflers that don't taper at the end and the baffles are welded right at the end of the pipe. I just bought a set with the baffles cut out (not pretty but it works) so I'm going to run them for a while and see how they sound. If I want to pull the rest of the baffles and cats I may try it later on down the road.
