Thanks. I've got to say these bars are really comfortable for me. They have quite a drop at the ends so I added a 2" riser to get a little height back, but the angles are perfect for me. Highly recommend putting the bars on and sitting on it before ordering cables etc. as that was when I added the riser. Adds time to the build but got it right the first time.

I have a set of HD Fused bars on my '20 Slim. https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...bar/p/55801016

They are 11" wide at the base and 31.7" wide tip to tip. The HD website says they will not fit the Slim, but they fit just fine. The dealer did my install when I bought the bike new. I do wish the bars were a bit thicker, they are 1.25" dia, I was wanting 1.5" bars for the fat look to match the forks.

I've got some 12" LA Choppers Nice Curves mounted but not installed. The grip width is great, measuring about 30" tip to tip. Height is great, they're super comfy in the sitting in the garage test....

I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on the base width? It's pretty narrow, a lot more narrow than the forks. Is this just the way it is with the more narrow apes paired with the wide forks on a slim?

Yeah that's about how they were on my Heritage with the 14" Nice Curves. It's the price of wanting narrow tip to tip width but still have curves vs Z bar angles. The bar ends require enough room for the controls and grips and the curves add a little width to make the bend. If the base was any wider, the grip width would follow suit unless the bars swooped in the middle. My Bendalicious bars I have on my Dyna do that, but I'm not sure that style would fit your Slim. The base is a bit wider though.

The narrow base doesn't look to bad, I prefer it to be a bit wider, no more than the width of the forks.

By the way, I like your Manx/VW Buggy in the back ground. One of those have been on my build wish list for years. I am trying to sell my 1980 Honda Bobber to fund a buggy build next.

That's my ex-wife's buggy, my son brought it over to get it running to help her sell it.... it's pretty cool but I'm ready to get my garage space back!

Finally got the nice curves installed, had to get longer clutch cable, brake line and wiring. I can only roll them so far forward before they hit the windshield, didn't think of that. I'm not 100% sold on them versus the wild 1 504's they are replacing, need to give it some more ride time. Had a lot more control with the 504's but that may just be a getting used to apes thing.

here's a pic of the 504's that I replaced...
