I have a 2018 Heritage that I love. It's my 136 mile-a-day commuter in and around the Los Angeles area. Sometimes, when I'm idling between cars and go to let out the clutch and give it a little throttle it feels like it knocks/pings, hesitates for a split second, then runs normally. Sometimes it doesn't happen at all during my daily commute. Tonight, it happened at least three times on the way home that I could count. After the bike went out of warranty in May, I did a Stage One using a DynoJet Power Vision. I added front and rear cylinder knock count to the gauges. Most days, it only shows 2-3 knocks per cylinder per 63 mile ride. Today it showed 26 on each cylinder.
It only seems to do this when I give it gas from idle. It seems to run perfectly in every other condition to include WOT.
Funny thing is, the stock tune did this too. I normally always get premium gas at the same three gas stations. Is this normal or is this something I should dive into deeper? I have a very basic understanding of engine tuning and know enough not to just monkey around in the maps and possibly cause other problems.
