Default Fly by wire throttle failure

Yesterday on the hiway at about 72 MPH I lost all throttle control. The engine ran fine, just wouldn't rev, only idle. I pull off to the shoulder and shut down. It starts up fine, revs fine so I get in gear and start up the shoulder. Same thing happens so I shut down. And wait for ten minutes and try again. It runs fine so I think maybe I shouldn't go up the hiway so I change my ride and all is good.
This evening coming through the Harbor Tunnel the bike spotters like it's running out of gas, it isn't. I get out of the tunnel and I have no throttle control. Shut it down for 5 minutes and it's fine.

Any ideas?
I got gas at the same Shell station both days. I only mention that because the engine acted like it was running out of gas the second time, no warning the first time. Clould it be bad gas? Could the EFI be FUBAR? About 110 miles between instances. Sometimes after start up the engine icon lights up but them goes out. No code numbers show in the odometer.
Any ideas before I take it to a dealer tomorrow?

Thanks.

Was it raining? Could the throttle have gotten wet? I had a similar issue, bike would idle but would not rev while turning throttle. It got wet, I let it dry out and all was good.

Now that I think about it I bet that wasn't the problem. I friend of mine had his bike do the same thing on the way back from Sturgis. It would no rev, it cooled down and it would, he would ride and the same thing would happen. It was a sensor, cost him $100 to replace because it wasn't under warranty. I can try and find out which sensor.

I would talk to the stealer about it and see what they say...

The ECM went into "limp mode". Yes, could be a bad temp sensor. This is why when it cools off it runs fine.

Sorry to hear you're having issues.

OK, just got a text back from my buddy. He said it was the connector going to the throttle body. Hope this helps.

Lewdawg, it rained Sunday, ran fine Monday and first started acting up Tuesday. I wouldn't think it was bad gas from Shell so the heat sensor and throttle body connector are two things to ask the dealer about.
Other ideas are appreciated too. I'm on the road visiting so won't be talking to my home shop and like as many ideas as I can get going in.

Thanks, guys.

Happened on a buddy's 08 too once when it was hot. Could it be 'year related' since I noticed you've got an 08 as well.
