I have a great dealer and I'm offended when these guys call them stealers. The dealer employs many people and they need to make a living just like you. You don't work for free and neither should they, after all they keep your luxury toy on the road

Nope, they don't keep my luxury toy on the road, my indy does for a helluva lot less.
This has happened to me a few times. I took it to the dealer he cleared some codes it ran fine and then it happened a month or so latter. Took it back they said they couldn't find anything...then I insisted I had a problem and wasn't satisfied with the "clearing code" story. The kept it, rode it...nothing! Finally he discovered that the throttle voltage was incorrect. Switched it out and she seems be be just fine now.
I took the bike into Harley Baltimore. They cleared some "historic codes" saying they were normal **** that always comes up. They couldn't replicate the problem, of course, so they hoped clearing the old codes would help or that it was bad gas. I still had 3/4 of a tank left so I dropped some Lucas gas treatment in there in case it was the gas. On my way back to NY I stopped in at Chesapeake Harley and described the problem. They weren't familiar with the issue, said the throttle control was the same part for 08, 09, 10 and 11. But I think I did get one of the tech writers to check out HDForums.
The bike seemed fine on the backroads coming back today. I ran the Shell gas out, put in some more Lucas and filled up, no problems. On the hiway, (I-78) it was so windy I couldn't really tell if the bike's power was pulsing or if it was the strong wing. Hoping it was the wind because I never lost power.
I really appreciate all the feedback. It's the aspect of the Forum I stressed to the tech writers, a lot more riders with a lot more experiences than what comes into any one dealer. I'll get my 20K service next week and I'll keep checking for updates on this thread, take notes and have the dealer check all the issues mentioned. Rain really should not be affecting the throttle sensors, we can't just be fair weather riders.
Same thing happened to me in the Smoky mountains. I checked the throttle body connector and it seemed fine. I went to the dealed in Marryville and they cleared the code that said Throttle sensor failure then rode the bike 30 miles, that pissed me off. When I returned to my dealed by trailer in Ormond beach(Bruce Rossmeyer Harley) they said the dealed should have changed the throttle sensor. I've ridden 350 miles with no problems since the sensor was changer. When something fails it won't correct itself. Some dealers will care and some won't.
