Faux Left Side Fuel Cap
I first removed the Allen screw from the cap. This allowed the removal of the threaded section.
Then I removed the three Phillips screws. This piece is stuck to the cap with two sided tape, so it doesn't come out easily.
I then remove the insert from the faux cap that was on the bike. I took a Dremel and cut the mount with the nut from the from the Alley Cat insert. Then I removed the cross from the stock insert. I smoothed both with a sanding disc. I applied masking tape to the AC insert, trimming it with scissors. I then poked holes where the screw holes were. I then peeled the tape from the AC insert and applied it to the stock insert. I drilled holes for the screws and trimmed the stock insert down to the size of the AC insert.
I got some 2x10 mm screws at Ace Hardware and put it all together.
Now I have an Alley Cat faux gas cap for my Sport Glide, which really needs to be washed badly.
