Hey everyone,
I recently bought a 18 deluxe and I’m not a fan of the front turn light bar. I was wondering if anyone has changed them to the old style fronts? If so what parts did you need to get ? And do you have the part numbers? Thanks again
Like you, I wasn't fan of the lightbar.
I relocated the turn signals on the bottom windshield mounting points and the aux lights on a mustache engine guard.
Originally I moved the turn signals on the handlebar (like the Slim) but I ended up putting a Reckless Batwing so they were masked.
Note that splitting turn signals from the aux lights will require a bit of electric work. The negative passes through the turn signals sockets and then goes to the aux lights ; but they are all connected to the main harness in the same connector. You'll have to split the negative wire. Nothing too hard, the most difficult thing is actually put those aviation connectors.
You can solder directly wire to wire but I wanted a solution to disconnect those elements easily for maintenance and/or modifications.
This is the best response I’ve had from anyone. Though what did you use to replace the light bar? The heritage turn signals or ?
Dunno if that message was for me but in case ...
I kept the stock parts, turn signals and aux lights.
I just Memphis Shades turn signal brackets to put them on the fork.
The bar in itself is out and now I have a clean front end, just the headlight.
