Got it to 1100 miles yesterday with a run to Death Valley, so today/tomorrow I will be doing the 1k service. She likes it so much she wants nothing else done to it. I'll be shopping for a different tour pack though. Have any of you seen a touring style chopped tour pack on a Heritage? I wonder if it would look as goofy as this one......
One year old today. 10,535 miles. I installed bag guards for her this morning to celebrate. Had a couple minor issues taken care of under warranty, but it's been a great bike for her. I installed bag guards for her this morning to celebrate.
What do you plan to run for oil with this oil change? Brand and viscosity?
I use Castrol GTX 20/50 oil in both my bikes. I've found the top end runs much quieter with it.
You didn't ask, but I use WIX 57148, or Hiflofiltro HF171B oil filters. If you look at the following filters that are both Harley brand, you'll see why. One is OK, the other is not. The filters I use are not louvered like the HD brand, but have holes around 1/4" ish in diameter for better flow. Both are 5 micron rated as well. Whoever make the HD brand has some tooling issues.
Want more?
I use Redline Shockproof in my transmissions, and HD Formula+ in the primary.
These oils can't be beat for these applications, and I've tried many.
Are you doing 10k miles on Primary and clutch oil and 20k mile on tranmission services, as specified in the manual, or something else more frequently? The Redline in the gearbox is full synthetic.

I have posted here before about my "trials and tribulations" with locating a bike for my wife. She had to have blue so that was our direction. They did not have the 2018+ in blue at the time (don't get me started on the late-model Heritage colors!!). However, once she rode the 2021, it is so much more comfortable than the older ones, she purchased it on the spot. Ironically in black - of all colors.
Anyway, shortly after that, we found out about the blue and black coming with the all-chrome 114 option for 2022. Gorgeous bike but we just couldn't take the hit with the price. Even for a trade. She would have wanted chrome spokes too which is an upcharge. I was even willing to take her black so she could have a new blue one. But I saved the cash and got a 2019 instead. I suppose she will have to deal with just blue pinstripes instead LOL
Personally my brain has trouble with the "reversed" two-tone on the Heritage. But that is just me. Funny how the Ultra is different in the Reef Blue. I like the 2018 anniversary blue one, but we could never find any in good condition. Ok, perfect condition since we're both picky as hell LOL
Anyway 702, sorry for rambling. That bike is a beauty!! Enjoy
