I did the heritage shock on my 2020 low rider s. Is it better, I think so. Night and day better no. There was a forum member on here I believe his handle was nightstrept. He had a 2020 fxlrs. He did like the best of everything to his s. Including the front and rear suspension. His reviews I always found to be honest and accurate. He summed up his 2k suspension upgrade as better than stock but no night and day difference. The new softail’s come with pretty good suspension I think. Why he sold and bought a pan America I will never understand. To each his own

I agree the stock suspension on a Lowrider S is very good. For me, I'd like to raise the bike a little, as I scrape the pegs often on the curves in my area.

Yeah the stock suspension on the Softails is pretty good. Upgrading mine is not because I feel it's necessary but it could be better, and everything I'm upgrading is just a bonus to an already good handling bike.
If the suspension is that good already, I can get excited about it being that much better.

The 2023 S and ST with the 117 engine have the tall shock as standard. Its the same actual shock as the Heritage.
CORRECTION ^^^^^ the 22 model year started the taller shock on the S and ST

i love mine, the spring rate and dampening are spot on...i am 260lbs, 6-1

my stocker, just reacted tp harshly, always jouncing abruptly, the Fox is noticeably more controlled and you can feel the springs reaction is far more smooth

I just had time for two rides. I had the long Harley shock and the Softail already rides pretty good over bumps so not expecting day and night difference. I weigh 180 and I keep my bike light so just getting the shock broken and dialed in for my riding style and roads I ride on.
I've seen early reviews about my Low Rider S that said this bike would do better with a 13" (13'1") shock, that's how Harley sells them now. I lowered the 13.1" Harley shock I had so this one at 13" makes the bike slightly taller but I hardly notice with my feet on the ground.
