I am in the market for an FXLRS and found a couple in a local dealership, if you were to choose which would be more appealing and why?
1. 2020 Barracuda Silver - currently the owner of the dealerships, has about 80 total miles, no mods. Not sure if the warranty applies.
2. 2022 Black - New - never titled, no mods, 4 miles
There is a 5k difference, the 2020 being the cheaper of the 2. I am leaning towards the 2020, i like the fact that there are fewer Silver than Black on the road, but the black is great because bags and fairings are easy to color match if I go that route in the future.
The 117 vs 114 doesn't matter much to me, as I'd be adding cams, pipes, etc in the future. And although the 2022 relocated the gauges, I think HD missed the mark a bit and have seen others do it more aesthetically appealing and with greater functionality in mind.
Coming soon!
I have a black 2020 with a woods 22xE cam and it rips! Just saying! 😂 as far as that single gauge it is a very simple mode to relocate the duel gauges to the bars. I am in the process of it as I speak.

Hmmm, go for the 2020 but make them start the warranty from the date you take possession of it.
As for the clocks being on the tank, I dont look at them 3/4 of the time so for me its a moot point. Most guys that do relocate them replace the dash with one from the blackline for a clean slick custom look.

so much talk about warranty. If you think about it you don’t really hear about m8’s being problematic. I put 1000 miles on my bike and said go to go. An aftermarket cam with power vision will turn your bike into a real Harley. M8’s stock suck. I could not have done 2 years! As far as the relocation of the gauges , I put my power vision on the bar to read m.p.h and r.pm. Works great under most conditions. Gauges relocated will be even better. Love to see the r.p.m’s dance! My counsel will be used to mount the power vision for more information. The black line counsel is real nice and I almost went with it. Almost! Seems to me most that do relocation use block off plates.

I agree the M8 has been a solid and reliable powertrain, I havent seen any issues out in the real world and have read of very few even here on the forum. Like you, I slid my pipe on a few ticks over 1K still loving the sound and added performance boost.
My plan is too save the pennies and pick up a cam and PV at the end of the riding season for next year. Im vacillating between the CR480 and the S&S475 .
