I have a 2021 Fatbob with dealership fitted Empire heated grips.
I turned them on this evening, outside temp was 21c / 70f - For added context, I’m running the Memphis shade hand guards and was wearing thin summer gloves.
I couldn’t feel any heat until I turned the dial to 6 before immediately heating up.
I’ve only ever used them in winter conditions previously 8c / 46f and under.
I remember never needing to go above 3 as this was ample..
The higher ambient temperature is causing the grips to be warm enough to trip the thermostat that controls grip heat temperature. I also have heated grips and don't use them above 60F because to have them engage makes my grips too hot. I just turn them to a "0" setting (off) from late spring to mid-fall. Glad I have them; they help extend my comfortable riding season down to ambient temperatures above 40F.
