Default Heated Grips

Well, the weather looks a little gloomey today so I think I'm going to install a set of Heat Demon grips by I believe Symtec? My Drag Rep. dropped them off last week as new product. Has anyone tried these already? Thought it might help stretch the season out a little.

I don't have them. But I do ride all year, unless there is snow on the roads.(Northern VA) Heated gloves are what make it possible for me. If only the grips were heated I'd be holding on too tight just to stay warm.

Do a search for Kurt Lange, he has installed these before. I will be installing before I roll out in the spring.

I have used the heated grips and to be honest I was not happy with them. The heated grips has to warm the grip and then your hands through your gloves. If you are not wearing gloves then you don't need the heat.
I went to a heated liner w/thermostat. I really like these they work great; no more cold hands.

I don't know what brand my heated grips are because they came on my bike, but I love them. RaftGyde asked if I'd rather have something prettier since I already have Gerbing clothing and go to the heated gloves(thinking about changing my bars), but I said no. I like that I can be riding and flip them on without stopping, pulling out full-fingered gloves, etc. As far as getting too hot, I have a lo-hi switch and it doesn't happen. It's a personal decision. Because I really, really hate riding with full fingered gloves and prefer my gay half ones, it works better for me and enables me to postpone switching over to the big ones. When we were riding in rain a couple weeks ago, I wasn't "plugged in" with clothing, but it was really nice to flip my grips on low. It helped keep my hands dry (or drier). It's something I've gotten spoiled with and will never live without. . .

Have them...love them...best money I've spent. Ride all year long, and yes, ya do have to heat the grip, then the glove, but even wearing gauntlets, I can feel the toasties in my hands. Some folks prefer heated gloves as an inexpensive alternative, but on a chill morning(60 deg), it sure is nice to throw on some thin leather gloves, warm up the grips, and GOOOOOOOO!!

FWIW.

An old timer told me that they were a "must have". I put them on last winter. The plain ones that H-D sells.
He was right. There has been a couple of times so far that they have been worth their weight in gold.
Half the time spent installing them went into wiring them.

I've had heated grips in the past and have them on another one of my bikes, while they are nice because they're always with you, you still can't beat Gerbings gloves for warmth.....I have the entire set of Gerbings, best investment I've made as for motorcycling......
