Bad tire, maybe. New doesn't always mean good. Air Pressure? Cupping?
Stalker in a 4x4 following you?
tire pressure is good. No cupping. I need to pay more attention of when I hear it. It may be the tar and chip roads around here. Heck, maybe it is the belt. I dont know.
Make sure you're running correct tire pressures. 38 front, 42 rear if a newer twin cam model. If low pressure present more tire is in contact with the road surface equating to more noise.
I run Michelin II's. Mileage is poor at about 8,000 miles per set but no appreciable noise.
They can get noisier when in a turn. Rolled over the tread changes from the center stripe. Owned a couple Fat Boy models.
that is exactly what is does. It also changes when off the throttle engine braking down hill. I'm beginning to think it is normal tire and belt sounds. It's been 25 years since I had a quiet stock bike and it may be just me hearing things that I'm not used to. I'll have the dealer look over tires, wheel alignment and belt at the 1000 mile.
