The throttle twist grip on my 2021 is just loose enough around the entry to the switch block to result in jerky throttle control at low revs and poor road surfaces. Even my Indian made Royal Enfield has a slicker throttle.
Is there any way to improve it? I do have a a set of HD Kuhuna heated grips on route which I was hoping had a better ID closer to the bar size to get rid of the slop but anyways is this a common problem and if so is there a fox? Switch block is tight so no possible loose screws there.
Well hopefully I have gone some way to limit the problem today. Two issues found resulting in slop in the throttle grip and the potentiometer.
a) The potentiometer in the end of the bar does not fit tight in the bar end. Levered this out around 1mm and fed in some metal loaded body filler into the gap with a tooth pick. Pushed it back into position and wiped the excess off. Its now tight and zero slop.
b) End of the grip fits into the switch housing. The housing screws had worked loose - again. Re-fitted those with a good treatment of threadlock.
c) Applied a couple of turns of electrical tape to the bar just before the switch block to take up some additional freeplay there.
I will give it a try in the morning but so far by feel it seems much better.
I have that same problem. I put new bars on and I'm guessing that the area is less than 1". Been trying to decide how to beef up that area. Tape isn't a good idea. Because the grip turns both ways, eventually it's going to come loose. If that happens it might not return to zero throttle position.

Good call. I will get that removed.
Other check is the right hand mirror and switch assembly. If that is not in the correct position it will allow a lot of right/left movement. Too much and the grip will disengage from the throttle potentiometer (but that's extreme).
Move it as far left as it will go and then back a tad to allow free rotation of the throttle grip.
