Fitting heated grips?
Now I have did a bit of a internet search and the internet based consensus is, a) the HD instructions are jibberish, b) I 'may' have more bits than I need

First thing I have noticed is in the twist grip sensor (TGS) assembly following removal of the central black cap, in the center of the potentiometer, there appears to be a socket ready for the RHS heated grip. So 'maybe' is the bike pre-wired? Hopefully so as the wiring harness that I 'need' does not appear to have any of the correct connectors that I need to supply power to the grip (unless I start chopping stuff).
Anyone done a similar install?

UPDATE - Just changed my search text and a bunch of previous posts came up on the subject. Let's see how I get on - doesn't appear to be too hard (famous last words?).

From what I have been able to find so far (and it's confirmed in that video), the Softails come with the right hand side grip pre-wired through the handle bars and the connector for that is loose in the neck of the bike. You need to run the cable for the left hand grip through the bars and then connect both using the wiring kit to the aux power in the USB caddy.
Let us know how you get on....as I will be following in your footsteps shortly.

Will get back to this later and see what I can add to 702's excellent articles.
Stefan's video makes it look straightforward...with that wiring harness adapter. Mine apparently fits back under the seat to some spares ports and gives some extra outlet points. Will probably need to chop something though? At least step one can be getting the grips and bar wiring sorted.

Biggest job was passing the LH grip cabling and plugs thro the bars with the help of a bit of weed wacker cable as a draw wire. That took around 1.5 hrs assisted by a lot of gratuitous profanity and Vaseline.
These are a bit fatter than the std, but the quality is leaps n bounds better. The looseness I had with the originals has also gone.
STAGE 2 -
For the HD 692011599A cable assembly Revelator Al sums it up well in his video at will fit the +2018 Softail line. All the nec plugs sockets are there, so prob tomorrow nights job ->
