Can anyone tell me the torx bit size i need for the mid control foor peg bracket that bolts to the frame? There are two torx bolts holding it to the frame and i do not have that bit.
i will buy a set of bits for my 3/8 ratchet. I just need to make sure that size is part of the kit.
installing my exhaust today and i cannot remove the stock exhaust because it sits behind the foot peg bracket.
They have permeant grade dry locking coated bolts. It's like a glue. It's not loctite and penetrants don't affect it. Heat will but it's hard to get heat on there.
I use an air impact. There tight all the way out even when they turn a little even when I used penetrants.
Bolts were trash. Takes quality torx tools.
Harley doesn't want that to fall off.
Only done two. I tried a breaker bar on first and the torx bolt head was almost already stripped out in two turns. If I had continued, it would have stripped head of bolt and that a big torx. The torx head is not real deep. And there is a lot of thread engagement.
Grip, make your next new post over in the new member area.
Just in case...
Welcome from North Beach, FL., USA!
Just in case you have not done this and I recommend this only as a suggestion....
Add a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike year, model, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with. Others will see it at the bottom which enables them to know your exact model if you ever ask a question. All Harleys are not the same and year and all the model letters make a big difference.
Also, add an Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER setup for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post.
It's also very helpful to read the 'HDF Site Rules' listed at the top of the new member area.
