Default HD Detachable saddlebags on 21 Heritage

Has anyone swapped the M8 Heritage saddlebags to the HD detachable saddlebags?.. The Harley site says for M8 Delux but both bikes use the same hold fast docking hardware, sissy bar, exhaust and identical style hard mount saddlebags I can't see why they would not work unless the Heritage turn signals would be in the way. It looks like there would be plenty of clearance though. https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/e...gs/p/90201555A

No, but I swapped to Boss Bags with quick detach. They clear the exhaust no problem. Way superior to HD bags. PM me if interested as I have them for sale for half price, as I sold my Heritage. They only have 500 miles on them. Good luck with your project.

I bought the bags mentioned at the time I bought the bike. At that time, early in 2018, I was unaware as most people, that this gouging on the swingarm would be an issue. I reported to my selling dealer and got the runaround from their service manager for a good year or more. That's all I got to say about that fiasco/service manager.
Here are two pictures. One shows the damage from the screw that is/was too long and made the gouge.
The other shows my JP Weld fill and paint repair after replacing the screw..
I wish I'd have waited now that I went to true dual fishtails as the bags sit a bit too high for my liking. And FWIW, they are way overpriced.

I have them on my Deluxe, havent had the swing arm, but the bags are the worst. Supper thin plastic very flimsy. I am considering getting a set of Viking hard bags and using the HD mounting system which is great.

IDK... But my initial thought... I might skip HD all together here and go to the aftermarket.

I replaced mine with LeatherPros...

I would recommend them, but they no longer offer these bags. Too bad too. Their bags and their quick disconnect system (works well with HD's Holdfast quick disconnect sissy bar etc.) are pretty good.

However... There are many other options out there. Most I believe have some form of quick disconnect mounting system.
