Yep. I did the same thing yesterday. I got the stock cans off with minimal wrestling but pulled the lead ring off the first one I tried to remove but that didn't stop me as I figured I may be able to crimp it back on however, I don't think it's the miles or run time. It's how much the split neck of the stock cans got mashed into the gasket material at initial assembly so if your muffler clamps were on the loose side from the factory? you have a shot at saving and reusing the gaskets but if your muffler clamps were on the tight side at assembly? No Bueno as the sides of the stock mufflers split neck are now well embedded into the gasket material itself and there is no taking a screwdriver to try an pry the split neck apart to salvage the gasket at that point as you'll just continue to damage the gasket (which seems to be some sort of wire mesh reinforced carbon)

I'm hoping one of the dealers has them in stock today as my beloved Heritage now sits in the garage with open head pipes alongside a box of Krhome Werks Shredder mufflers and a yet to be installed V&H FP4.

Looks good with the cone ends.
It drives me nuts when someone gets a Heritage/Deluxe and swap their slip ons to something with the bell flare end, or the abrupt cut. It looks weird.
The slip ons need those cones at the end on a Heritage, it looks nicer and more fitting to the bike
