Default Crooked OEM Seat

My '23 Breakout has a misbuilt seat. The front of it pushes 3/4" to the right and is off-center. I have replaced it with a Saddlemen seat, but think I ought to have HD replace the OEM seat because it's defective. This pic was taken the day they pulled my bike off the delivery truck. I will post another pic of the underside which will show what appears to be a malformed/misdrilled seat pan later.

Anybody ever seen anything like this before? It looks stupid. LOL.

Exactly! Since I'm running this bike with a solo seat, the OEM seat didn't have enough of a rear lip to keep from sliding off the back edge of it without the pillion there. That's why I was going to a Saddlemen seat anyway. Now it's just a matter of principle.

It'd be one thing to have a straight seat that was sitting a quarter of an inch off center. Having a seat that is clearly deformed wouldn't fly with me.

In my opinion, stock harley seats are horrible both comfort and support wise, at least that has been my experience with the bikes I have owned.

The seat put-er on-er is an elderly, visually challenged lady who drinks Jack Daniels during breaks. Looks like the QC inspector is covering for her.

Odd that they would let that out the door though.

I think the seat falls into the same category of axel covers, foot pegs and exhaust. I can hear the conversation in the board room now. "Let's make them as "unfinished" but marginally acceptable as possible but impress the buyer with an overall look just enough to want to purchase it. Hey it's only cosmetic. $100 here. $200 there. No big deal. The consumer will want to make it their own anyway"

The seat is QC fail #2. The first was my headlight rubbing on the headstock because it was adjusted all the way down. Thank goodness it runs and rides OK. So far.

I had a few fails on my 22 Heritage too. The kinks seem to be worked out now, fingers crossed that you don’t find any more.

No mention of it at acceptance? Should have said something about it then, no? Not like it would settle in ? Good luck regardless.
