Sons bone stock 117 LRS with the sewing machine quiet pipes easily pulled away from a couple of the 114 "HD" Stage 2 softails we ride with. (Yes HD Stage 2 cams and not aftermarket both were the torque cams).
Now he has the HD Stage 2 HP cam with slip ons and I can definitely feel the difference! It especially pulls harder on take off, which I thought wouldn't be the case.
Absolutely mind blowing @ how good it performs straight off the showroom floor!
Yes.. I'm calling bs on the 117 stock pulling past a stage 2 114.. something must be wrong with the rider or the tune or both.
l believe it if it was a 114 with a screamin eagle cam. Correct me if I am wrong but the 117 pretty much comes with a cam that is equivalent to the se torque cam. An aftermarket cam would be different. 114 or 117 are putting out some really great numbers for a simple aftermarket stage 2 is something we can all agree on. 107 also.

Agree. The whole "stage x" thing is H-D marketing magic. Better just to talk specific exhausts, cams, throttle bodies, etc.
New guy here. I mean new 2023 Low Rider S 117 here. I too had similar questions that got answers here but instead of making another thread for similar Q's I thought I'd ask here. I'm on a budget with slip ons. So yeah the Cobra NH seem a good option but I'm wondering how different is the exhaust with this bike from the 114's? I see the V&H Mini Grenades are soo much better and now they can be bought cheaper I think around the same price as the Cobra NH on some sites. Why would V&H not have them listed to be compatible? There some variable cause of the increased power to the 117 that makes the Mini Grenades not function as good? I'd so love to get them.
