Default Recall

Who’s not riding their Softail until they can get the recall taken care of?
Thanks

I rode mine and when I got the recall I rode it to the dealer to get fixed.

Say what ? Are you talking about the bolt that holds the remote shock reservoir ? Do it yourself and be done with it.

Yep, it only takes a few minutes.

I rode mine for nearly five years knowing it was an issue (it’s l been discussed over and over here since 2018), so I wouldn’t stop now.

Mine was flagged by the dealer when I brought the bike in for a tire change. It must have taken all of ten minutes.

I swapped to a new 1/4-20 Grade 8 bolt, and will now do the recall 5/16 bolt and nut myself. I'm not going to let the jr tech start drilling over my bike with no regards to shavings. It takes all of 10 minutes to do and 3 of those minutes is to run upstairs and get a beer.

I rode, knowing it was a weak design before the recall.

My dealer claims they can't get parts to satisfy the demand because they're fixing inventory and bikes that arrive without the fix. Now we're heading into winter, they had no idea when they'd get to mine, added me to the list for parts.

Yeah, I can do it myself, but not going to. Already stabilized fuel and put it up on winter dolly. Gonna change spark plugs next. Already changed oil.

The dealer can't get the parts, what they don't have any hardware stores near them ? It is a 5/16 bolt and lock nut, nothing special.

Not gonna. Too lazy to drill out the hole.

Time to cut firewood and hunt.
