Has anyone else had their bag lids coming open while riding? Doesn't happen all the time, only during longer rides I've noticed.
And before anyone chimes in, yes, I'm making sure the lids are closed and latched before taking off. I've gotten to the point where I just lock them before I leave, but I really shouldn't have to do that every time. Thanks!

Just lock them ! We should NOT have to lock anything, but
the added security is worth the hassle. It's under warrany
take it back and let them figure it out.
Last year, the plastic mechanism on my left bag (stock) simply broke off. The plastic latch got dislodged from its housing, meaning I could not close the bag. Happened on a ride so I bought a plastic strap at a truck stop which I looped around the bag to keep it shut. Brought it to my HD dealer at the end of the riding season (up north) and they confirmed that the plastic part could not be reinserted or fixed, so I had to have the entire lock (or bag, at this point I dont remember) replaced, which I did. I have an 18 Heritage Classic.
So be alert for this problem with the latch and lock too.
