Heritage--Stud / rivet removal?

I pulled the tank bib, replaced seat, and left the oem bags. I thought it might be nice to match the bags to seat, but I was thinking maybe $200-$250. No way I would spend $900 to recover bags. Agreed. I cannot justify that kind of money for basically just not liking the black rivets. I have seen places that do custom bag lid covers but none so far that will do a Heritage lid. The phrase "red-headed stepchild" comes to mind once again.
However, the cost starts to add up with other options:
* Replacement slip-ons since the exhaust options are closely tied to going with hard bags
* Custom Kinetic Green paint. How on Earth would I locate the crazy yellow decal and have a good painter integrate that to match the rest of the bike?
* Related, could I use Kinetic Green hard bags from a touring bike? Would they fit? All the stars would have to line up to even locate a set!
It's all just too painful. With the Heritage on a 7-year run since 2018, shouldn't it be time for a re-design? Would the next gen bags be nicer and backwards compatible? Ok, yeah I am LOL as I am typing this. Uggh
