Default 2018 Fuel Pressure Regulator fix

Hello, I know this has been posted about many times, and I know that the fix is to rotate the fuel pressure regulator 180•. Does anyone have a link to a video on how to do this? I have not been able to find a walkthrough and I would feel much more comfortable doing this myself if I could watch a video of it being done first.

Are you having issues with fuel dripping out of the vent tube?

This post has some pictures of the fuel pump and a description of the work that needs to be done
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2018-...l#post18378955
This video shows the fuel pump removal and the guy messing with the the pressure regulator.
My advice would be to not even mess with the black rubber piece and just pull the pressure regulator out and rotate it 180.

I've been wondering why my 2018 Low Rider gets crappy gas mileage ever since I bought it used in January 2024.
Thanks to this thread I think I finally figured out why. My bike must have been dripping fuel out of the vent tube this whole time I've owned it.
The only reason why I didn't know is because I have a California bike with the charcoal canister and any fuel would have went into the charcoal canister.
After ready this thread and doing some searching on the forum I temporarily disconnected the vent tube from the charcoal canister and saw fuel dripping out of the vent tube while idling on the side stand and after shut off.

I ordered a new pressure regulator and gasket but decided to open it up first and rotate the pressure regulator 180 to see if it makes a difference and so far doesn't seem like its dripping from the vent any more.
Although looking at the fuel pump I can't figure out how 1) fuel gets into the vent tube. 2) how rotating the regulator prevents the fuel getting into the vent tube and dripping out the bottom.
Also, the fuel pump was changed in 2023 and a new part superseded the old one. The old fuel pump part number for the 5 gallon tank is 6200042 and the new one is 61200093A

Thank you for the info. I was leaking, doesn’t seem to be doing it so much lately, at least not that I’ve noticed. I try to remember to look each time I get off the bike, but I don’t always remember.
