I dont have a clue how it worked for me the first time.

I'm going to force the dealer to demonstrate it when I go back to pick up my service manual.
OK, I went and tried it and the first time it did not work!
Seems like the timing is critical; you must press the left signal but VERY FAST twice. The Off - RUN, Off - RUN must be quick but not as quick as the left signal button. The odometer should never cycle like in step 1.

Remember you NEVER have to turn off the OFF - RUN - START switch once you turn it on at step 1 and wait 30-sec ( maybe shorter )
So you do step 2 and if you do not get the left/right signal light to blink 3-times together, you can simply repeat step 2 again till it works. I had to repeat 4 or 5 times till i got the quick left button right.

Good Luck !

Tried again, and again no joy

Apparently I'm not fast enough. For the record, I'm a lead guitar player so the fingers and thumb of my left hand are fast.

Not like my dad when I tried to teach him how to double-click a computer mouse. Thats a sad tale

If it needs to be faster than I'm capable of doing it, then there's something wrong because I'd bet money I can do it faster than maybe 95% of Harley riders

Sorry it did not work for you.
Hopefully when you go get your service manual the dealer can show you better than my explanation. I bet you a buck that he does not get it the 1st time!

I'm not confused about the process. Its quite clear. I've seen a dozen video's and read the owners manual, etc

Its not rocket science.

It actually worked for me once exactly the way I, and then you, described, and I did set the PIN.

Hasn't worked since doing exactly the same process as before.

I bet he never gets it, because its not working right.

Since my PIN is actually set (and works) I wouldn't pursue it at all except my sense that if one thing doesn't work right, there may be others.

Default Anyone get it to work with any consistency?

I found this thread because I was having the same issue. Read through all the comments and tried the steps many times, paying close attention to the button clicking speed 😁. I finally got lucky once and got it programmed. Still pretty frustrating that it was this much of a hassle.

I’ve had my bike in the shop for computer/electrical issues four times since I bought the bike brand new three weeks ago. Talked to a guy getting his 2025 worked on one day because his screen went dark. Keep up the good work, Harley!
