Default Low Rider S, no fairing!

Hey guys... If you ever wanted to see what your LRS looks like with a bucket style headlight rather than the usual fairing, take a look. It was hard to find any good examples of others doing this, so I just went for it. I'm pretty damn happy with it! I went with the moonsmc stuff, but there are plenty of options out there.

Thats a really nice look. Never been a giant fan of fairings myself, so I think that's just about the best lookin low rider S I've ever seen.

Kudos!

Ive been riding Fat Boys for 25 years, so the headlight looks a tad small to my eye, but thats a real subjective thing. Of course my 2025 Fat Boy headlight is now a nacelle. Wasnt a giant fan, but its growing on me

I appreciate man! Gotta love a good Fat Boy! And yeah I can what you mean about it looking a touch small. But I prefer that over the big egg-looking fairing I had earlier! Sadly there aren't a lot of options for those of us who are looking to remove the fairings from low riders.

I've been thinking of taking off my ST fairing and doing the same. Thanks.

I think it looks waaaay better without the fairing. More like an FXLR! I can see a fairing being helpful in colder weather or interstate riding, though.

Sure thing!
Mostly from Moonsmc.com
Headlight of your choice (5.75"). Mine is the OG moon maker v4 but all of their 5.75" lights should work.
Headlight bucket kit, including 2018+ softail M8 adapter
Headlight block for FXLRS
Basic hand tools to install. I recommend unpinning the stock headlight wires leading from the frame to the adapter block, then routing them through the new bucket, then repinning the wires back into the same adapter block. That way you're able to easily go back to the stock light if needed. The adapter wire set that you'll add to your order with the bucket are rather long, but I was able to coil them up inside the bucket. Tight fit though. If I was to do it all over again,.I might cut the wires of the adapter set shorter and resplice them back together.

Hope that helps!

I've been running fairings for so long I can't get my mind around not having something up there. If not for the wind but just to clean that area up. Not a fan of the tree/neck area on bikes, unless it's something custom with a nice fork and frame. Never loved the LRS cowl though, had a weird shape from the side so removing it totally, definitely is much nicer in this case.
