It's all subjective and 100% rider dependent. I am hard on brakes, and hard on throttle, but I have zero use sliding into or out of anything. Here lately, since the rear tread is gone, I've been braking it loose in second... But I will say TC is really smooth and unnoticeable. Not that I'm all about nannies... Just saying I have no need to waste rubber and it's certainly nothing to complain about.

Ran the Michelin Commander IIIs (handled poorly in the rain for me), original Dunlop D401/D402, and Dunlop American Elites

My current favorite of the group are the Dunlop American Elites.
I got +10K miles out of a rear AE and my present front tire has +20K and still looks like a few more thousand miles are left in it. Been though the rain with them and they handled it well.
I ordered a replacement for my front tire. It's waiting to be installed. I couldn't find an American Elite so I went with the replacement AE2.
Which are great touring tires, but I personally have no need for touring tires on a softail... And the highest milage isn't the point... For me. I want grip. I'm riding 12-15k a year and I'm perfectly OK with new tires every year. I'm pretty much there and could go a tad softer. Actual sport tires that are only going to give me 5000 miles... Well I don't need those on a cruiser either. I want the softest tires that will give me reasonable miles... YMMV.

I'm not wishing you any bad weather, but it would be nice to know how they handle wet conditions.
Ok so we did the trip which was over 1k miles had about 2 hours of rain near the end of it, while i wasn't doing any crazy fast cornering i found the Cobra's gripped well, they will be my go to tyre now

That answers the rain question. You should have about 3000 miles or so on them now, how do they seem to be holding up. Do they look to be wearing down quickly or do they look like they might last a while.

they look about half worn to me, i don't think they will be a long lasting tyre as they are pretty soft
