06fxsti rear tire
hey all hows everyone? I'm ready to replace my rear tire I have a little over 12000 on the rear and it still has some life left. My question is which dunlop tire is better the d205 or the d407. I cant complain to much about the d205 since it has lasted this long. Planning a trip in april to the smoky mountains so I would just like to make sure that I have new rubber on the back. thanks for your help. eastern performance has the d205 165 harely has the d407 for 195.

The D205 is an OE replacement. The D407 is a replacement series that comes with a three-zone tread design. According to the Dunlop website, the high-wear compound in the center of the tire tread runs cooler to provide stability, excellent traction under braking and long tread life. Lateral grip compounds flank both sides of this long-wearing compound to enhance traction at higher lean angles. Net result: more grip when cornering.
Either series will do fine. If you had no complaints with the 205, get that one since you are saving money.
