A few minutes of pre-work on each bike and boom you ride in and it clicks in. I installed two permanent chocks in the front just to keep the wheels from moving around. No tie-downs. No extra hooks or points to install on the bike. Honestly it's magic.

That said...could a 12' trailer have worked? Sure, but towing and backing up a longer trailer is easier. Would I go shorter than 12' or more narrow than 7'? Life too short for that headache. Are the bars and the chocks in the way for helping move a friend. Yes, but no apologies. They rent their own truck. I do have a rail on one side to move a fridge. Having the dual axel forces me to get the trailer inspected each year? Yes, but I like the braking capability and it's good piece of mine to know the trailer is safe.

Note: With the 7' x 14' we have just enough room behind the bars to throw in a queen size air mattress. For camping, I purchased some custom sized screens and rigged up some hooking points. So, we have a "screen door" access on the side door and the back with the ramp down. We rough it but it's easier IMO than a tent or small RV with a trailer behind or a toy hauler. We let our friends bring their RV that when we camp.
Awesome, thank you!

Well I picked up a 2020 Haulmark 7x14 today. Pretty nice, decent price, I'm happy. I'll get it all setup for the bikes. Time for some trips.

Should work nicely for you. As a bonus you'll have room for luggage, tools, spare tire, etc.

Exactly. I didn't want bigger than necessary, but I also hate just enough. We can stagger and leave room up front for stuff and easy access. Maybe next year I will do biker bars, but this year will be chocks.... Maybe. Obviously that's cleaner, but I also don't have big plans for other uses.

Looks great! What bars do you have on the bikes? Especially, the one on the left, but they both look great. Did you have to extend the cables?

I went with chocks that have steel plates "permanently" bolted to the floor, then then the chocks bolt to the plates. If I need to pop the chocks out to use the trailer for other things it's only a matter of removing a few bolts. The plates remain bolted to the floor.
For the relatively few times per year that I haul the bikes I just can't justify the cost of multiple Biker Bar or Wheeldock setups, as much as I'd like to try Wheeldock. Adds up quick when the trailer is set up for 3 bikes.
I've made several (14 or 15) trips from the NY/Canada border to the Daytona area without a single incident with the current setup. So I'll stick with what's worked for me without further investment.

I’m interested in your system. What is the name of the chocks that can be unbolted without removing the plates? I’m working on a similar setup now and would like to have the same flexibility. Thanks!

The first was a Bike Pro. Here's an Amazon link but it appears to be unavailable there these days. Maybe a search will turn up an alternative seller.
Amazon Amazon

I'm still poking around trying to find the brand of the other. I'll report back if I find it.
Edit: The other brand was Pit Posse that I bought on eBay in 2023. They don't seem to be available under the seller I used now. But I'm sure you can find similar fairly easy. Pictured below.
