I have to say, my 2019 SGS would run at high 200s on cool days,. and in low 300s most days. Sometimes, the rear cylinder temps would reach almost 400 degrees.
This new 25 RG runs so much cooler. I usually see temps around 200-215 degrees.
After some further investigation, I let the bike idle for 15 min in driveway and measured temps with a temp gauge gun where coolant goes into rear cyl head and where it exits front head and at no time did it go over 160 degrees where it exits and goes to the radiator. Meanwhile the gauge on the instrument pane went has high as 220.
Mean while the difference in the temp coming out and in to the radiator seems to be about 30 degrees. So it seems that this reading we are seeing on the dashboard are way out of line with what it really is.
So I will not be watching that gauge anymore,
Hoses do not transmit heat well. Shooting a temp gauge at the hose on the outside will always give you a temp below the actual water temp.
