I am trying to download the stock tune from the Harley Davidson SE tuner onto my 2024 CVO Road Glide. Halfway through the process I keep getting an error code that says headlamp failed to shut off and it then aborts the process. Any insight into what is causing this?

this guys was through the process and looks fairly intuitive
I too have the same issue on my 24 CVO RG. Tried using tuner via BT to my iPhone (latest iOS), lock screen disabled, all other BT sources disconnected, infotainment off on bike, battery tender showing green and I get the same error 14 headlight failed to turn off.... I have tried every which way but sunday and had no luck. Went to HD dealer and service said call the 800 number but I have yet to do that bc I am not very patient with phone support people. I just got the Y cable today and tried via PC connection and it wont even see the bike. So as of right now I am sitting on $500+ for tuner and Y cable, plus another $500 for the wide band auto tuner (not installed yet so not the issue).
Any progress on your end? I can see the base stage 1 map and it allows me to click program after I cycle the ignition but then throws the headlight error. One thing I might try is I saw the instructions say turn ignition switch and run stop switch which obviously 24s dont have both. I read that you can have run switch on hold trip switch and toggle run switch off and back on to keep IFCU on and kill engine. Obviously engine is not running but maybe that will trick it into thinking we have both ignition switch and run stop? I plan on trying later and reporting back.... if that fails I will be calling the 800-258-2464 number and trying my patients i guess...
Just got off the phone with HD support after about 45mins and they are calling the local dealer to have me take it in. I will not pay them diagnostic fees I can tell you that. I will report back with what I find after I get that done. So far bluetooth and Y cable are a bust.
Just talked to the dealer about this. As stated by them, this is a known issue with 23.5-24 CVOs and they have to have you bring the bike in, get on the line with HD support and do some custom magic file or something to get it to take a program.... I will not be paying labor as this is a fault of the device IMO. I will be taking it in on the 11th to get the flash done and report back.

I am having the exact same error. Were you able to figure it out?
Yes after talking to the techs and HD phone support, 23.5-24 CVO Road Glides and Street glides require dealer intervention to do the flash no matter if you have the tuner or Y cable for PC. It is absurd and I argued with them that the product is something advertised to work with those models with a smart phone or computer with the Y cable. In the end the dealer did the flash and my wide band screaming eagle auto tuner is in and working as expected. Now I was told with the auto tuner I cannot\should not run smart tune sessions which seems odd but the bike seems to run just fine so I am just leaving it as is. I did go on a 5200 mile road trip right after and only had one issue. The check engine light came on about 1000 miles in and when I plugged the tuner in to read the code it was not able to pair to my phone as it was still paired to the techs phone I guess and try as I might I could not get the unpair (twist throttle WOT 3 times) to work. I just rode on as the bike was running fine and about 200 miles later the CEL turned off and never came back on so who knows...
But the short answer is, if you are getting the same headlight did not turn off error, it requires the dealer to flash it for you. Hope this helps.
