Has anyone tried putting a hd. Coolflow fan on a 2024 touring model yet? I have a 2020 e glide with one that has been on 2 other bikes. Our unreliable local dealer says no... anybody got any 1st ha d experience with trying this. Parts people say book says through 2023 so NO. Thanks in advance and I'm sure there may not be any way (switches) available to operate it. Maybe it will go with the 2020.. works good...max

don't trust the Parts guy...look at COOLFLOW Fan on the Online Store Fitment Guide for years and models .. not that it is always 100% reliable either
Howdy - I just purchased one for my 24 Road Glide. I have part no. 26800242 for the CoolFlow Fan and 69203486 for the required harness to attach to the 12 pin P&A connector under the seat. Everything looks straight forward. Based on the iSheet, the center cooled models do not require a dealer flash. You use the IFCU to enable the fan.
I plan on installing it this week. I can't speak on other model years.

Have you completed your install yet? Im halfway through installing 26800242 on my 24 Road Glide, but the iSheet doesnt give any wiring instructions past Remove cap plug on red marked [325B-3] (1.d.). I can intuit most of it, but I dont know what, if anything, to do with the remaining 2-way plug on the harness that came with the fan, 69203452. Figure 4 implies theres a Cooling Fan [318] plug on the bike, that perhaps this connects to, but I cant find anything like that. Im curious what you did if you installed yours.
So here is what I recall. You must have the extra harness (69203486). This harness will plug into the P&A 12-pin plug under your seat (near your heated gear plugs). You will attach one of the grey connectors (325B-3 / red tape) from that harness and match it to the corresponding connector from the fan harness. You will have one extra grey connector (325B-2) and a two wire connector (350B-1) that will not be used from the extra harness. Just tuck those somewhere safe.
The tricky connector is the one located below the ABS unit and plugged into the side of the battery box (see screenshot below). You will need to unplug it. It looks like that's where it is supposed to go, but it's really just a blank outlet for the wire to attach to. That plug will go into the matching plug on the CoolFlow harness and the other plug on the harness will go to the plug on the fan itself. The plug on the CoolFlow fan has a built-in wiring connector that if you look on the metal frame near the fan you will see the extra hole it fits into.
I tucked the new relay next to the others. I may go back and see if any zip ties are needed.
I hope I recall all this right. PM me if this doesn't make sense or if you need some additional pictures. It all made sense once I found that hidden connector. My biggest issue was fighting with the bolts and getting them to stay put while trying to line up the fan. I dropped the bolts three times and took 15-20 minutes each time trying to find all the washers, etc.

OKHDGuy2023, thanks to you Im now in business. If it wasnt for you, I would not have found that plug. It was near impossible to see and theres a thick wrapped-up wire harness pressed against it that even with what I could see and feel I thought it was clip to secure that harness in place (the harness feels pretty fixed). Based on your post I unclipped what was there and sure enough it was that elusive plug! Again, thank you so much, I really appreciate your detailed and informative response.
For anyone else reading this before doing their install, like OKHDGuy2023, I too kept losing the washers between the frame and holes in the fan while trying to attach the fan. Theres a push on retaining clip thats supposed to keep the washer secured to the bolt on the fan-side of the frame, but its too loose and works itself off before the bolt makes purchase with the fan. I ended up using pliers to slightly flatten about 3-prongs each to tighten the diameter of the holes that slide onto the bolts. I also put the instruction sheet under where the fan goes so if the clips and washers fell again theyd hit the paper and slide down to me which happened.

I had one of these on my 19. It was a built engine and I added it to try to suck as much hot air away from the motor compartment as possible. Also added the fan assist oil cooler. Im sure both helped at least a bit in the NC heat of the summer. I see HD is offering the fan for the 23/24 now. But that install was a PITA. Think Ill have the independent do it for me. I know .. Lazy right ?
Hi David, OKHDGuy2023
You are truly a life safer with this install! The key issue was locating the "tricky" connector which you described finding it perfectly on the side of the battery case to me in a PM. Others might need to know that this connector which is almost impossible to find is found on the side toward the bottom of the battery compartment which is very hard to see. It's really hidden and not visible. Finished attaching the connectors and turned the fan on to test it and that was that. I can see why HD shows it to be a 4 wrench install with juggling the screws and washers to locating all the connectors. Not to mention getting to and taking the battery out!
Thanks again!
Howard
